Felix Kwakye Ofosu, a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communication Team, has criticized Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's vision for the country, considering it a fabrication. This response came after the vice president expressed his vision for the country on his campaign platform, urging New Patriotic Party delegates to vote for him as the party's flagbearer. Kwakye Ofosu dismissed Bawumia's vision as a baseless story that should not be taken seriously by Ghanaians.
During an appearance on Metro TV's Good Morning Ghana, Kwakye Ofosu condemned Bawumia for his failure to effectively manage the economy, despite being praised by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as an economic expert. He pointed out that the country has experienced a significant economic decline under Bawumia's leadership as the head of the Economic Management Team.
"If, in the past seven years, Bawumia's claimed expertise as head of the Economic Management Team could not prevent the catastrophic decline in the Ghanaian economy, why should anyone waste time with him? What does he have?" Kwakye Ofosu questioned.
Referring to Bawumia's recent mention of having a new vision, Kwakye Ofosu accused President Akufo-Addo of intentionally allowing the economy to fail by not allowing Bawumia to utilize his expertise to fix it.
Additionally, Kwakye Ofosu highlighted that Bawumia's alleged expertise in economic management seemed to have disappeared, as he has been unable to reverse the current economic downturn.
"All the expertise he claimed to have has vanished into thin air. He cannot apply it to prevent the slide we are witnessing and bring the economy back on track. He can only do it if he is elected president. This is a baseless story that the people of Ghana will reject outright," he stated.
Kwakye Ofosu concluded by asserting that Vice President Bawumia has nothing substantial to offer even if he becomes president of the country, emphasizing that Bawumia's previous campaign claims and arrogance have not translated into any positive outcomes since he took office in 2016.
